What is Performance Linen?

Is Performance Linen wrinkle-resistant?

Yes. All of the breeze, minus the crease. Traditional 100% linen wrinkles near-instantly because of the stiff nature of the fiber when exposed to even trace amounts of moisture. Performance Linen is designed to stay sharper longer. We engineered this fabric with an elastic, wrinkle-resist blend to prevent the deep, disheveled creasing typical of traditional linen, but never look shiny or synthetic.

Do I need to iron a Performance Linen suit?

No, but a quick touch-up never hurts. Because Performance Linen is engineered for wrinkle-resistance, it naturally releases deep creases that would ruin a normal suit. Light texturing from wearing is a natural property of all linen clothing, and is welcomed for the casual, lived-in aesthetic that characterizes this material. For a quick fix: A warm iron or light steam will keep lapels crisp.

Does Performance Linen stretch?

Yes. It moves when you move. Integrated dynamic four-way stretch in the weave creates natural mobility wherever it's needed without bagging out. This alleviates a traditional complaint of boxy, restrictive linen pieces.

Yes. Dry cleaning is so 1990s. Twillory Performance Linen is built to be fully machine-washable, saving you time and expensive cleaning bills. Wash: Cold cycle recommended. Detergent: Small amounts, and never bleach. Dry: Flat, on a clean towel. Finish: If needed, steam or iron on low.

Does Performance Linen shrink?

Not if you treat it right. The poly-viscose blend stabilizes the linen fibers in Twillory's Performance Linen, but excessive heat when washing is the enemy. The Rule: Wash cold, dry flat. Never tumble dry.

How do I know if my suit fits?

Before you head out the door into the great unknown, here's a few things to check: The shoulders: The shoulder seam of the blazer should be positioned right where your arm meets your shoulder, allowing the sleeve to drop in a straight line, without creases or bulging. Too small, and the shoulder pads won't create a crisp line up top. Too long, and the sleeve will bow in. The back: The rear of your suit should fit close to your back, but not be pulling or wrinkling. This means it's too small. Alternatively, a billowy or loose-fitting back means you've gone too large. The sleeves: These should hit right at your wrist bone and show a peek of your shirt cuff. You didn't put all that work into coordinating to hide it, right? Closure: look for the top button to hit around your belly button. When buttoned, you should have room for a fist between the inside of the blazer and your shirt. This provides enough slack to avoid the dreaded "X" from a too-tight fit, but still allows a gentle level of contouring in the midsection. Length: With your hands at your side, look for your blazer hem to land around your knuckles, or a little bit higher, depending on personal preference.
